Clementine Basemap Mosaic (version 2)
Description: These Clementine tiles represent the version 2 basemap mosaic (750nm with fill from other bands). This version supercedes the original "warp" basemap. More from the readme.
These are stored in a GIS-ready, 8bit GeoTiff with an embedded Lunar definition of 1737400.0 m radius in a geographic coordinate system at 0.0033 degrees/pixel (~303 p/d or 100m/p). The longitudes are in a -180 to 180 system to keep the near-side centered, although the quads are labeled with using 0 to 360 longitudes. The method used to convert from a 32bit to a 8bit image was to linearly stretch the data range from (0.048, 0.5) down to (1, 255) leaving 0 for NODATA. This resulted in some value saturation especially at the poles. Polar areas are available in geographic (lat/lon) and Polar Stereographic projection. Updated Apr, 2009.
Note: The other 16bit warped bases are still valid for spectral use (e.g. minreral maps).
North polar image in Polar Stereographic projection (60N - 90N lat)
South polar image in Polar Stereographic projection (60S to 90S lat)
- Detached GIS worldfiles for above tiles (note that files also have embedded GIS header).
- GeoJpeg2000 Global Mosaic (lossy)
- 8bit 256 p/d (~100m/p) GeoJpeg2000 UVVIS v2Basemap (750nm with fill from other bands, lossy)
- 8bit 128 p/d (~200m/p) GeoJpeg2000 UVVIS v2Basemap (750nm with fill from other bands, lossy, std. dev. 2 stretch)
