Clementine UVVIS Basemap Mosaic Warped to ULCN2005
Description: These Clementine tiles represent the UVVIS Basemap Mosaic (750nm with fill from other bands) which have been warped using a 6th order polynomial to the ULCN2005 control network. They are stored in a GIS-ready, 8bit GeoTiff with an embedded Lunar definition of 1737400.0 m radius in a geographic coordinate system at 0.0033 degrees/pixel (~303 p/d or 100m/p). The longitudes are in a -180 to 180 system to keep the near-side centered, although the quads are labeled with using 0 to 360 longitudes. The method used to convert from a 16bit to a 8bit image was to linearly stretch the data range from (300, 3000) down to (1, 255) leaving 0 for NODATA. This resulted in some value saturation especially at the poles. Polar areas are available in geographic (lat/lon) and Polar Stereographic projection. Updated Oct 23, 2007.
North polar image in Polar Sterographic projection (60N - 90N lat)
South polar image in Polar Sterographic projection (60S to 90S lat)
- GeoJpeg2000 Global Mosaic (lossy)
- 8bit 100m/p GeoJpeg2000 UVVIS Basemap (750nm with fill from other bands, GDAL Aux)
