C and FORTRAN Code

All programs should compile on any system using the Gnu gcc compiler. I have not tested these on other compilers.

  • isis_hdr.c - This simple program parses an ISIS cub to grab out needed information (lines, samples, skipbytes, ...) to generate a detached header file needed for programs like Arc/Info, ArcView, ENVI, etc. Will only work for 8 or 16 bit data. Also see isis2world.pl to generate a world file and a header.
  • isis2arc.c - Program will read a 32, 16, or  8 bit cub file and output an ASCII formatted file which can be read into ArcView 3.x, ArcMap, Global Mapper, GDAL tools and others. If the cub is in a map projection then the program will write out the lower left of the file in meters. One must own Spatial Analyst or 3D Analyst to use this in ArcView 3.x (use the import option under the file menu). It is easier to use isis2world.pl or isis2world_dd.pl to generate a world file and a header for 8 bit ISIS cubes. Jan 2004, added multi-band support and output of a *.vrt for GDAL reading and conversion.
  • isis2arc_swap32.c - Program will read a 32, 16, or  8 bit cub file and output an ASCII formatted file which can be read into ArcView as a Grid. This slightly modified version will swap bytes in a 32 bit formatted file so that it can be run on an ISIS cub which was generated on a different chip set. If the cub is in a map projection then the program will write out the lower left of the file in meters. One must own Spatial Analyst or 3D Analyst to use this format in ArcView. Use the import option under the file menu.
  • arc2isis.c - Program will read an ASCII formatted 32 bit file from ArcView, Arc/Info, SOCET SET, etc and convert it to a 32 bit ISIS cub. The projection information cannot be saved. Thus you must run the ISIS program "maplab" after the cub is created. This program requires the ISIS program "raw2isis" to fully complete.
